6pm

Black coffee

Leaves shaking

Shorter days

Cool breeze

Warm rays

Goosebumps

Crow calls

Steady traffic

Light sweater

Closed eyes

Exhale summer

Leaves shaking

Black coffee

6pm

Night hues take over the sky.

I sit loosely draped in the night air.

Soft soundtrack of distant laughter.

Evening bliss.

Wind gently brushes

the hair from my eyes.

In the same breath

it initiates an evening dance

with the trees.

What I would do

to turn my seconds into minutes

and live in the space between them

Turn the moments inside out

and take them all in

Absorb the beauty

and passion they hold

Keep you with me

as the minutes turn into hours

and join the days gone by

Night magic

Tree silhouettes

Sinking sun

Leaves lose their crispness

as the sky reveals its fiery layers

Earth and sky alternate

basking in the sun's brilliance

The evening breeze through the leaves

brings stillness to life

I am swaying to the rustling symphony

of tiny dancers and road travellers

Sinking sun

Tree silhouettes

Night magic

What if it rains?

Every rainy day that I want to go for a walk, I find myself asking this question. But when there's a break in the clouds, I put on my shoes and head outside.

Tonight, I felt a few drops as I turned the first corner and considered turning around, but I kept walking. The breeze was picking up and I could feel the tension in my body lifting.

It ended up being one of the most peaceful evening walks I've had in awhile. Everyone else must have looked outside.

What if it rains?
