Virgo Season Tarot Forecast + Journal Prompts
Virgo season tends to bring the energy of going back to school, starting to embrace the changing seasons, and leaning into sweater weather. The openness to change that comes with this sign helps to create new systems and structures rather than being on autopilot and going in circles. Though routine is important, it is more important that your energy and time are being used efficiently! Virgo wants to analyze because that is how you determine whether something else could be more aligned.
The card I pulled for the main theme of Virgo season overall was the 35 Loyal Heart card from the Wisdom of the Oracle deck. It highlights the importance of intentional devotion. What and who do you want to be loyal to, and how are they loyal to you? Going forward, ensure that any commitments or self-imposed rules are genuinely for your benefit, not simply out of obligation or external pressure. The eclipses this month will reveal what is truly reciprocal - and what isn’t.
Patterns and relationships that lack mutual energy will become impossible to ignore. Another theme for the month is that once these truths are seen, they cannot be unseen. Trust your intuition if something or someone no longer feels aligned, and question routines or self-imposed rules that are no longer supportive. I often pick up on the numerology of the card, and its number (35, reducing to 8) combines creativity (3), change (5), and abundance (8), suggesting that true fulfillment comes from devoting energy to what genuinely serves your big vision rather than clinging to old habits.
Above all, eclipse season brings courage to let go of what no longer serves. Move forward with purpose, clarity, and a deep connection to your heart, using this time as an opportunity to commit to creating a life that is both sustainable and aligned with your core values.
For each week of Virgo season, I’ve provided a reading and journal prompts for the Tarot card associated in the Cosmic Energy Report forecast. Listen here to receive our combined tarot and astrology messages for the month!
Virgo Season Weekly Readings and Journal Prompts
6 of Cups (August 22 - 30)
-
The Six of Cups comes up this month as a nudge that you may need to let go of what’s merely familiar but no longer serves you. Patterns, relationships, or routines that are comfortable but unfulfilling may come up for review. Notice when something that once brought joy or comfort now feels stale or unfulfilling. These realizations may come suddenly and be impossible to ignore - think “once you see it, you can’t unsee it.” You won’t be able to convince yourself to tuck those feelings back in again because your intuition and higher self won’t allow it!
There is a connection to the overall theme card for this month, the Loyal Heart (from the Wisdom of the Oracle deck). We need to re-evaluate what we are devoting our time, energy and loyalty to, and consider why. If you are faithfully serving someone or something simply because you always have, think about what you are receiving from that interaction. It’s a time to seek balance and recognize what needs to change, even if it’s something you’ve done for a long time. What would you do if being loyal to yourself was the priority?
Hint for next week: Allow the torch from the King of Wands to lead you forward as you restructure your daily routines to support you!

King of Wands (August 31 - September 6)
-
This week is bringing energy to lead yourself, and use your creative energy purposefully. The King of Wands is embodying Leo energy (entrepreneurial, confident, and self-assured) and delivering a mental breakthrough for you - sometimes the expert you are seeking is actually you! You have been developing personally, professionally, and spiritually for a long time. There is nothing more you need in order to create what you’re envisioning for the future. Though there may be people and opportunities yet to appear, you are ready to get going!
There is a big difference between doing things out of obligation versus genuine passion. There is a sense that this card is urging you to prioritize what excites you and to protect your time and energy for those pursuits. You don’t have to explain what you are working on, or why! Authenticity and passion are your resources, and the King of Wands is reminding you of their value. He’s emphasizing that it’s best not to let the energy of this week go to waste. If you have a creative spark or a project you’re passionate about, now is the time to act on it!

Queen of Pentacles (September 7 - 13)
-
The Queen of Pentacles feels secure, knows her worth, and doesn’t give her energy away to everyone who asks for it. She brings a grounding, nurturing energy, which is especially welcome in the midst of Virgo season’s intensity. When you trust that what you’ve built will support you, it feels safe to slow down and make decisions based on what your heart is telling you. This card is a reminder that your wisdom comes from experience, which you have in abundance!
There’s a sense of reward for your efforts, but it’s not just about money - it could be time, relationships, or other resources. Trust that you’ve earned your place and can rely on yourself! Don’t be surprised if you are recognized for your efforts and start to receive more of what you need, whether that’s money, time, or community support. Others likely lean on you for advice, comfort, and your healing energy. It’s more than okay to seek those who offer you the same.
The Queen’s presence after the King of Wands suggests a progression: after acting on inspiration, you begin to see tangible results and can rest in the knowledge that you are capable and deserving!

13 Death + Rebirth (September 14 - 20)
-
The Death card is actually a relief this week, a necessary and powerful release. It’s about letting go of what’s no longer working, acknowledging your growth, and embracing change. The transformation that comes after a lunar eclipse can be quick, and also expected. As we discovered with the 6 of Cups, once you see what needs to go, you can’t unsee it. This is the point of no return, where you step into a new version of yourself and leave behind old cycles and patterns!
The card’s energy is not always about literal endings, but about shedding old identities, patterns, or commitments that have become stale or burdensome. As you are acting on your desires (King of Wands), and establishing your value (Queen of Pentacles), you are now ready to fully release the past and embrace a new version of yourself. This process may involve grief or discomfort, but it is ultimately liberating and necessary for growth. The numerology of the card (13, reducing to 4) suggests that building a new, stable foundation will require creativity and courage.
The focus here is on the Rebirth energy in the card. By knowing who you are becoming, it is easier to know which behaviours, routines, relationships, and jobs aren’t in alignment. The build up to the eclipse this week is likely to make this shift a powerful one, and the universe may even make some decisions for you!

20 Judgement (September 21 + 22)
-
Judgment is about liberation from limitations and seeing yourself in a new light - free from guilt, shame, or old stories. This card marks a moment of self-recognition and acceptance. Because it comes with the solar eclipse, it has the energy of an awakening. This is not about harsh self-criticism, but about leveling up and committing to what truly aligns with your heart and soul.
Judgment is the culmination of the month’s journey: after letting go (Death), you are now able to step into your higher self and move forward with purpose. Trust that it’s okay to say no to anything that doesn’t fit. If it doesn’t match your loyalty, it isn’t meant for you. This card signals a powerful new beginning, setting the stage for the next chapter as the season shifts into Libra.
You will receive what you need to move forward with purpose, commit to what’s truly aligned, and surround yourself with people and opportunities that match your higher self. This card emphasizes devotion, commitment, and trusting your inner guidance!
